Who needs to take the Virgin Islands boaters safety course?
All boaters who operate a personal watercraft in the Virgin Islands and all boaters between the ages of 14 to 18 are required to complete the safe boating course. BOATERexam.com® is a delegated provider for the Virgin Islands Department of Planning and Natural Resources.

Education Requirements
Any person between the ages of 14 to 18 who will operate and/or ride a personal watercraft must complete a safe boating course approved by theVirgin Islands Department of Planning and Natural Resources and obtain their Boating Safety Education Card.
The Virgin Islands Boating Safety Education Card is proof that you have met the mandatory boat safety education requirements for the U.S Virgin Islands. The Virgin Islands Boating Safety Education Card is good for life and does not need to be renewed.
Age restrictions
- Anyone under the age of 14 may not legally operate a PWC under any circumstance
